V8 Powered 2014 Ford Flex R

Today Ford announced a new, top level Flex variant; the R. Apparently Ford engineers have gone completely insane and stuffed a Coyote 5.0 V8 motor into the decidedly hearse-like Flex.

Just kidding, I had an extra "R" from the shaved lettering off the back of our Jaguar F-type. :)

If they did make a Flex R, it might be like this: (yes Ethan and I spent 20 minutes watching Flex drag videos this morning, laughing at 4wd burnout attempts.)

We should have been suspicious of that 'R'. Ford uses 'ST' or 'GT' to mark off high performance models.

If I had kids, I'd totally look at a Flex. Cooler in the second row, decent looks IMO, can be loaded up pretty nice and the EcoBoost means it's no slouch.

There's some guys out there with some impressively fast Flex's.

One guy is running ethanol, upgraded turbo's, fuel rails (in addition to direct injection), meth injection and some very intricately setup cutout valve's.
